A small note about happiness

One arbitrary turn along the way and I would be elsewhere, I would be different…

That’s human nature, to focus on the future or on the past, but not on the present moment. And definitely, our own life seems to be the center of the universe. It takes a shock (good or bad) to take a step back, to have a different look, to re-evaluate or to connect the dots, whichever you prefer.

The last weekend was a shock from the early Saturday morning in Japan. I do consider Paris home, irrespectively where I may be living at the time. It happened to be love from the second sight, but definitely for life. I am glad that all my friends are ok and I hope that everything will be ok going forward.

Is it much that we really need to feel happy? Today I felt happy to feel sun beams on my face on the way to work, to laugh in a good company over a cup of coffee, to hear all those good old Christmas songs (that you are sick of at some point every year and miss a year later) in every shop on my way home, to carry a bright sun-like flower in the rain humming “raindrops keep falling on my head” and feel all those surprised looks along the way as no one does that, not in Japan.

Happiness is in the heart, not the circumstances, though how often we forget this simple truth.

Carry that on a rainy day and let them all wonder what you’ve been up to 😉

May your days be filled with small joys and magic moments!
