Lost in translation II: cracking the language code

It may come as a surprise (especially after my previous post about language challenges), but we all can speak more Japanese than we think.

How it is possible, you will ask?

Here again comes coffee into play! Coffee seems to be a universal language in itself, and despite the unreadable menu, you can do it in Japanese, believe me.

Starbucks, Tokyo

Starbucks, Tokyo

Now, read out loud:

Koh-hee hot-to shot-to si-ze

And again, slowly, with pauses after each syllable.

The trick is that you can always try to pronounce English words in a Japanese way, and it may even appear to be the right way. Voilà!

Good start is half of the job they say, you can learn Japanese 🙂

Good-do luck-ko!
